Healthy Planet: We Care about Climate Action

With an investment of US$6 billion in disaster risk reduction in the next 15 years, we can prevent a loss of US$360 billion.

Why it matters?

Climate change is caused by human activities and threatens the future of the Earth and people.  By tackling climate change, we can build a sustainable world for all. But to do this, we need to act urgently.

So what is our plan?

Strengthening resilience and adaptive capacity in all countries to climate-related hazards and natural disasters

Integrating climate change measures into national policies, strategies and plans

Developing training, awareness raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation to climate change, mitigation and early warning

Implement the commitment to jointly mobilize $100 billion annually by 2020 to address the needs of developing countries and capitalize the Green Climate Fund in the context of meaningful mitigation action and transparency in implementation undertaken by developed countries that are party to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change fully operational as soon as possible.

Supporting mechanisms to increase capacity for effective climate change planning and management in least developed countries and small island developing states, with a focus on women, youth, local communities and marginalized groups.
